Anand Bhairav Ras is an Ayurvedic medicine widely famous as ayurvedic treatment for fever & is available in tablet form. It is used in the treatment of acute and chronic fever, diarrhoea, rheumatoid arthritis etc. This medicine should be strictly taken under medical supervision.

Anand Bhairav Ras is a herbo-metallic medicine of Ayurveda. Mercury preparations are used to treat various chronic diseases that too without any side effect (if taken in consultation with an Ayurvedic doctor). Modern world is now open to herbal formulations but taking time to understand on how mercury can help in treating diseases. All the Ayurvedic medicines that are prepared using mercury are made from a purified form of Mercury, purified Sulphur, bhasma etc. These mercury herbal formulations are termed as Ras Aushadhi (Mercurial medicines). Para, Parad, Rasa are synonyms to mercury which is a heavy metal that remains in liquid state at room temperature. It is utilized in many Ayurvedic medicines only after proper detoxification as per classical Ayurvedic texts. Parad is main ingredient of number of Ayurvedic preparations as it is a potent energy enhancer (yog vahi). It balances all the three doshas ie. Vata, Pitta and Kapha. All our mercurious medicines also known as Ras Aushadhi are fast acting but at the same time they should be carefully made and detoxified according to the texts. All Mercurous medicines nourishes human body and are found to have aphrodisiac, tonic, anti-aging, wound-healer, rejuvenative and antimicrobial effect. The combination of mercury with other medicinal ingredients enhances the therapeutic efficacy of medicine as mercury increases the perforation of the herbal ingredients to deeper tissues.

Benefits

Fevers of varied etiology

It is prescribed in the ayurvedic treatment for fever (s) acute/chronic of all types. Dose for the same is one tablet morning evening with honey.

If it is a high grade fever which is not controlled with other medicines then it is advised one tablet thrice a day with ginger and honey mixed together.

Chronic Cough

In conditions where body becomes heavy and lethargic, mild feverish, a feeling of not doing anything, yawning again and again, low appetite, even after fasting low appetite, nausea like feeling- in all these symptoms Anand Bhairav Ras is helpful. It is helpful in pacifying kapha dosha & excessive cough & thus all these symptoms will be relieved with this single medicine only.

Productive Cough & cold

When cold turns slowly into cough, then cough is accompanied with sputum. At that moment phlegm is yellowish or white, associated headache, breathing issues etc. In this condition Anand Bhairav Ras is given with betel’s leaf (paan ka patta). It is not given in the first condition of cold.

Bronchitis or Respiratory Disorders

Chronic and prolonged cough and cold leads to Bronchitis, Asthma or other respiratory diseases. When cough is too much and comes with white color phlegm along with feeling of anxiety or uneasiness is there, this also results in breathlessness sometimes. Anand Bhairav Ras is helpful in this condition as it acts like bronchodialator and helps the cough to come out.

Diarrhoea

When kapha dosha increases, appetite diminishes. This leads to pachaka pitta vitiation. In this condition stomach becomes heavy and the internal lining of intestines get inflamed – this ultimately results in diarrhea. At this moment Anand Bhairav Ras stops Phlegm formation & is given with kutaj decoction which helps in stopping diarrhea as well.

Rheumatic Fevers

It is very useful in treatment of Rheumatic fever, Rheumatic Arthritic conditions. Generally it is administered with other supplements like Mahayograj guggul.

DIGESTIVE SYSTEM-

Mandagni-(Digestive fire donot digest properly).-loss of appetite.

Diarrhoea-due to mandagni due to excess mucous Chronic stage of diarrhea.

Colitis

IRRITABLE BOWEL SYNDROME-Constipation, stomach pain, frequent motions but still feeling of constipation.

Convulsions-(Apsmar)-

It is very useful in vataj apasmar or convulsions.

DIABETES MALLITUS-(Madhumeh)-

It is useful in kafaj prameh & frequent urination.

Ingredients

10 g fine powder of each of
Shuddha Hingula – Purified and processed Cinnabar.
Vatsanabha – Purified Aconitum ferox – Monk’s hood.
Shunti – Ginger Rhizome – Zingiber officinalis
Pippali – Long pepper fruit – Piper longum
Maricha – Black pepper – Piper nigrum – 20 g
Tankana Bhasma – Borax – 10 g
Jatiphala – Nutmeg (fruit) – Myristica fragrans – 10 g
Jambiradrava – Lemon juice extract Quantity Sufficient.
Fine power of above ingredient is ground with the juice extract, made into paste and pills are prepared.

Finally, in all types of typhoid or intermittent fevers, Anand Bhairav rasa is choice of all ayurvedic doctors. So, Ayurvedic treatment for fever (s) is incomplete without the use of this special medicine.
