MOTI PISTHI/MUKTA PISTHI

Mukta Pishti is an Ayurvedic drug as the name suggests it is prepared from Pearl. It is widely used by Ayurvedic physicians in the various treatment of diseases like diarrhea with bleeding, neuro disorders like Mania, Psychosis, etc.  It is also called as Mukta Pishti. This medicine should only be taken strictly under medical supervision.

Physical properties of Muktapisti – Bouthika guna
Colour of this is pure white
Smell  – fragrant in smell
Touch – masrana, very fine- generally goes to your finger lines
Taste – nirasa (no particular taste)

Mukta – pearl – medicinal qualities:
Rasa (taste) – Madhura – sweet
Guna (qualities) – Laghu – light to digest, Sheeta – coolant
Vipaka (taste conversion after digestion) – Madhura – sweet
Veerya (potency) – Sheeta – coolant
Effect on Tridosha – Balances Kapha and Pitta Dosha.

Mukta Pishti Benefits:
It is sparingly used in the treatment of nerve disorders like mania, psychosis & depression as well.
It works as a cardiac tonic & has anti hypertensive property as well.
It helps to relieve diarrhoea with bleeding, and such other bleeding disorders, excessive burning sensation, gastritis, fever.

It is widely used in diabetes, bone disorders as well. It is very effective in treating fevers during teething in children.

It is also used in various eye disorders as well, it increases eyesight,

It is light to digest, very cooling, aphrodisiac, increases appetite as well.

It stops hot feeling in the body,

Muktha pishti in psychological disorders:
It is a very useful remedy in treating various types of mental conditions like a mental shock, short temperness, phobia, tinnitus,

Ayurvedic Treatment of Epilepsy, nervine weakness, bleeding disorders, tuberculosis in all these moti pisthi is very useful. In these cases, it can be prescribed along with few other nervine tonics such as Brahmi ghritham, Saraswatarishtam, etc.

Mukta pishti can also normalize the intoxication of deliriums like ganja, alcohol, datura, etc. Apart from treating mental disorders it is also used in the treatment of raktha pitta, rakthathisara, raktha pradara. It also gives results in sweating during the night.

Muktapishti Effect on Tridosha – Balances Rakta and Pitta.

Mukta Pisti dosage:
30 mg to 120 mg once or twice a day before or after food or as directed by Ayurvedic doctor.
It is traditionally administered along with honey, butter, or milk.

Moti Pisti side effects:

• Keep this medicine out of reach and sight of children. Store in a dry cool place.
• Prescription medicine. The dose is duly prescribed by Ayurvedic doctors.
• Self-medication with this medicine may prove to be dangerous.
• Overdosage may cause a lowering of Blood pressure.
• Take this medicine in a precise dose and for a limited period of time, as advised by the doctor.

Moti Pishti ingredients:
Shuddha Mukta(moti) – Purified Pearl- 10 g
Rose water – quantity sufficient.
The purified Pearl is taken, pounded to powder form. It is thoroughly ground with rose water for 3 – 4 days, till it becomes as fine as a collyrium, to obtain Pishti.
